MINUTES: March 13,
2004

SecretaryMembers of the board of the
Professional Educators Association present: Norman Ruoff,
Charlotte Ruoff, Cindy Frerking, Sandy Hunt, Cheron Tiffany
The meeting was called to order by President Frerking.
No previous minutes were read.
I. Conference
- Cindy gave us all a copy of the announcement that
will be placed in the Conference booklet.
- Booth information
- for $75, we have an 8 foot table in booth 34. We'll
share it with Friends United.
- looking for volunteers to staff it
- available there will be:
- brochures and applications
- a donation jar for scholarship
- a candy jar for those who contribute to (b)
- a sign about our luncheon
- our banner
- pictures of scholarship winners
- scholarship applications
- a member list to be checked off and corrected
- last newsletter to pass out
- Cindy and the Ruoffs will set it up on Fri. Mar 26 at
1:00 pm
- A luncheon/business meeting will be held April 1 at the
Hometown Buffet from 11:30 to 1:30. Election of the
board will take place (slate will be presented)
II. Membership
- We have 115 members who have paid at least once since 2000
- We have 7 lifetime members
- Norm mails a reminder to renew.
- A discussion followed on the best application forms. We'll
keep the tri-fold one.
III. Treasurer's Report
- Madame Secretary was "occupied" and didn't get to write
down the amount in our treasury. She is sure that Mister
Treasurer will correct her.
- It was moved by Cindy Frerking and seconded by Sandy Hunt
that we approve the placement of the funds accumulated through
life-time memberships in the Washington Mutual Investors Fund
through Edward Jones. (The Ruoffs will guarantee the $3000.)
The motion was unanimously approved.
IV. Scholarship
- Changes to the form were discussed
- Sandy Hunt will contact Blake West about putting the
application on the website
